Every Sunday, we serve freshly cooked meals with bread, cakes, and drinks – all crafted from surplus ingredients kindly donated by local organisations, traders and residents.
The soup kitchen at 101 in Cliftonville is a place for anyone to enjoy a hot meal, whether they choose to eat in or take it away.
All food is served on a Pay What You Can basis, and we strongly believe this is the way to go to keep everybody happy and well-fed whilst fighting waste and inequality.
This system doesn't protect us enough from the risk of going broke, though, which is exactly the risk we are facing right now.
After the generous community response back in 2024, we’re once again seeking your help, this time with basic expenses to get us through the next six months.
Thanks to our local traders and volunteers and your donations, we feed about a hundred people each Sunday!
With the goal amount of £2,200 we will serve approximately 2,400 delicious full meals and rescue about 1 ton of surplus ingredients.
The soup kitchen is fully funded by local donations, both in products and time, from an ever growing group of residents who believe in supporting one another.
With £2,200, we can pay for the following for the next 6 months:
Takeaway boxes & bowls
Ingredients (to integrate surplus)
Electricity & gas
Equipment, spare parts, maintenance
Miscellaneous
Please help us keep our soup kitchen going for all!
Thank you, community!
