Clayton is a devoted dog dad who has fallen on hard times. I met him outside of Petsense, sitting on the sidewalk in 28-degree weather with his three dogs—Ruby, Gracie, and Thor—charging his phone. Despite the freezing temperatures, Clayton chooses to sleep in a tent rather than give up his dogs, because they are his family and the only constant in his life. No local shelters will allow dogs, so he faces the harsh winter nights with his pups by his side, determined to keep them safe and together.

Clayton’s love for his dogs is unwavering. The dogs are healthy, well-fed, and clearly cherished, but their living situation is dire. The low last night in Mississippi was just 14 degrees, and the risk to their safety grows with each cold night. Clayton’s greatest wish is simply to keep his family together and find a safe, warm place for all of them. He’s willing to work and rebuild, but right now, they need immediate help to survive the winter and get back on their feet.
