My name is Danielle, and I’m Cindy Galasso’s daughter and Patricia Galasso’s granddaughter.
On October 5, 2026, we received the kind of call you never expect.
Cindy and her mother Patricia lost their home in a devastating apartment fire in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. In a matter of minutes, their lives were completely turned upside down. Their apartment is now uninhabitable, and they have essentially lost everything.
Thankfully, Cindy and her mother Patricia made it out safely, but they are now left with no home, no money, no clothing or basic necessities, and nowhere permanent to go.
Their circumstances make this situation even more difficult. Patricia is elderly, and Cindy is disabled and still recovering from a recent hip replacement surgery. Before the fire, Cindy and her mother Patricia lived together, with Cindy also helping to care for her mother.
Now, in addition to replacing everything they lost, they are facing the difficult reality of finding two separate, safe and stable living arrangements. Patricia will need assistance finding housing that is appropriate for her needs as an elderly woman, whether that means senior housing, assisted living, or another supportive option. Cindy will also need help securing affordable housing of her own where she can continue recovering from surgery, focus on her health, and begin rebuilding her life.
The Red Cross was able to provide temporary hotel accommodations immediately following the fire, which we are incredibly grateful for. However, that assistance is temporary. Neither Cindy nor Patricia has a permanent home to return to, and both will need help figuring out what comes next.
Right now, Cindy and her mother Patricia need help with:
* Safe temporary housing while permanent arrangements are found
* Separate long-term housing for both Cindy and Patricia
* Security deposits, moving costs, and other housing expenses
* Clothing and shoes
* Meals and groceries
* Toiletries and personal-care items
* Transportation
* Replacement household necessities
* Other basic expenses associated with starting over
They are not simply trying to replace belongings. They are trying to rebuild their lives and find two safe places to call home.
We are creating this GoFundMe to give Cindy and her mother Patricia some stability during an incredibly frightening and uncertain time. Our immediate priority is making sure they are safe, fed, clothed, and have somewhere to stay while we work to find appropriate long-term housing for each of them.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help with the immediate expenses they are facing and give them a chance to begin rebuilding after losing their home and everything they had.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Even a share can help us reach someone who may be able to provide financial assistance, housing resources, or other support.
We are incredibly grateful that Cindy and her mother Patricia made it out safely. Material things can eventually be replaced. Right now, our focus is helping them get through these next few weeks and giving each of them an opportunity to move forward with safety, stability, and a place of their own to call home.
Thank you to the Phoenixville firefighters and first responders who responded to the fire, the Red Cross for providing immediate assistance, and everyone who has already reached out, shared resources, donated, or offered support.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping Cindy and her mother Patricia rebuild after this devastating fire.
