Help Christopher Roark Replace His Electric Bike

Donation protected
Christopher Roark is a hard working cook. So much so that he rides an electric bike the 10 or more miles to his work place. Weather permitting. He's been so excited about the bike and researching which one to get and what sorts things you can upgrade or change. This also helped him immensely in terms of affordable transportation for work.

Thursday, July 18th, 2024. Christopher was riding on his way to pick up an extra shift, covering for a sick coworker. Riding along Randleman Rd. heading North Bound towards Webster Rd. Intersection, between Advanced Auto and AutoZone, when he made eye contact with a masculine individual (we presume male, with all respect) driving an approximately 2005 Red sedan. He doesn't quite remember the make or model. Christopher was going roughly 25 mph at the time, the individual was stopped at a stop sign and was clearly observing Christopher approach. Christopher took this gesture of inaction as his "go ahead" to pass, he also had the right away. The individual then pulled out and would have had time to clear Christopher with no issue, but decided to stop with their driver side door directly in his path. With no space to stop, Christopher hit the driver side head on. He was launched over the vehicle, scraping his face along the roof and landing roughly on the opposite side of the car. The individual drove off abruptly after realizing what had just happened. Christopher is now stuck at home in pain and struggling to do menial tasks. The local police were alerted and took a statement, but without plates don't have much to go on.

He will prevail and recover, as he is no stranger to pain management and injury recovery. He is mostly unharmed besides some minor bumps and bruises, thank God! What does directly impact Christopher is his now inability to provide himself transportation to make it to work.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help pay off the totaled Electric bike Christopher has. Equalling over $2000, anything raised above that point will be used to help in his recovery and towards purchasing a new electric bike so he can get back to work and keep it pushing!

We love you Christopher and are truly saddened this has come upon you. We hope you have a speedy recovery and can get back to what you love doing!

Honorary thanks to the upstanding bystander who witnessed the entire thing as well as stayed with Christopher until his father arrived to pick him up. We don't know your name but you were an older African American individual, and you deserve recognition!

Please feel free to share this story with others to get the word out, maybe we can yet find justice for the individuals involved.

Any donations will help to support Christopher towards paying off the remaining balance of the damaged bike, and to cover expenses related to the accident. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated as well!

Any funds will be directly given to Christopher Roark upon withdrawal by Nathan Watson, the organizer of the fundraiser.
