Help Christina & Raymond Adopt a Daughter
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christina and my husband is Raymond. For the past 2 years, we have been on the list for adoption. After years of infertility issues and not being able to start a family, we decided to pursue adoption.
We now have a wonderful birth mom who has agreed to let us adopt her daughter, who is due to come into this world in 3 weeks. This whole process started several years ago when I got to marry my best friend. We had been together for 8 years and then decided to make it official. After getting married, we decided we wanted to have a family.
This all took a bit of a turn when I was told by my endocrinologist that having a child while on my diabetes medication was too dangerous. We decided to go forward with infertility treatments and come off my diabetes meds. During this time, I found out I was insulin resistant, which meant that I would not respond to regular insulin. This made things even worse due to my high risk for gestational diabetes. In the end, we felt it was too much of a risk, so we decided to look at adoption.
We started by looking at DCS and foster care. Unfortunately, the process was so intense, and after 6 months, we had not even gotten past the paperwork. We decided to try private adoption for an infant. We spent the last 2 years waiting for a birth mom to choose us and give us a chance at starting a family. After 2 years, we finally got matched with a wonderful birth mom.
Unfortunately, the state that she is in requires you to work with a specific agency, which costs about 3 times what we had saved up. The original cost of the adoption agency was $19,000.00. We have saved up a lot for the lawyer costs but are now asking for help to finish this process and raise approximately $25,000.00 to help finish this process by paying the agency for final costs of the adoption. Please help as much as you can to help our dream come true and bring this little girl to her new home. Thank you.
