For 13 years, I have run Little Boxes Theater, and it has been so much more than a small business to me. It has been a home for artists, performers, filmmakers, and community, a place built through countless hours of hard work, care, creativity, and love. Now I am facing the heartbreaking reality of closing this chapter. After years of working to keep Little Boxes going, especially through the long aftermath of COVID and the continued slowdown in ticket sales, shoots, and arts events, we have reached a point where we simply cannot continue as we have. We had hoped a new owner might be able to take over the business and preserve what we built, but property management will not allow a new owner to assume the business at our current location. As a result, we are facing the difficult process of moving out and winding down something that has been a huge part of my life for 13 years.
At the same time, my family is being called east to support my siblings as they face breast cancer. Right now, being present for my family needs to come first. The funds from this fundraiser will help me repay a $37,000 EIDL SBA loan, cover the costs of moving out and closing the theater, and give my family a little breathing room as we begin this next chapter. If Little Boxes Theater has ever meant something to you, if you saw a performance there, created something there, gathered with friends, supported an artist, or simply believed in what we were trying to build, I would be deeply grateful for your support. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help me close this chapter with care and move forward with a little more stability. Thank you for being part of the Little Boxes story, for supporting independent artists and small businesses, and for helping my family through this difficult transition. I am incredibly grateful for every bit of love, encouragement, and support.
