My name is Christa, and for 26 years I struggled with heroin addiction. For over five years, I was homeless, living on the streets without a place to call my own. Ten months ago, I made the decision to get sober. I graduated from a recovery program, completed their sober living, and have worked hard every day to rebuild my life.
Now, I have the opportunity to move into my very own apartment—something I’ve never had before. Unfortunately, the program I completed is still working on getting outside support for housing, and I’m currently waiting on disability. While I would love to work, my health conditions, including SLE Lupus, Raynaud's phenomenon, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and COPD, make it impossible right now.
Having my own apartment is just one step closer to becoming the person I want to be—more independent and able to live a normal life. Your support would not only help me continue my recovery journey, but it would also help ensure that I don’t have to return to the streets that nearly took my life. Any help you can give means the world to me. Thank you for considering a donation and for helping me take this next step toward a brighter future.
