Help Chris to send First Aid supplies to Ukraine.

Hi there, my name is Chris Laursen and I’ve been a medic in various industries since 1988.

I’m an Australian with a passion for helping others who are in need.

I have worked as a medic in a range of environments from deep sea diving sites, the Anti Poaching Units of South Africa and even the film industry here in Australia.

As we all watch the horror of events unfolding in the Ukraine, I am moved to try to do something to help. I have successfully crowd funded the supply of Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) to Anti Poaching Units in the past and now want to do the same to help the Ukrainian people.

The IFAKs will each contain a range of haemorrhage control devices such as various wound dressings, bandages, wound packing gauze, a tourniquet and a thermal blanket. These are all proven life saving supplies that can be used by just about anybody.

The IFAKs will be vacuum packed to make the compact to carry and to keep the supplies within clean for use.

Each IFAK will cost me $30 AUD to make.

I will then take them to Poland and distribute them to the brave Ukrainians who are returning to their homeland despite the dangers they are facing.

I want to do this directly to avoid the top heavy NGOs that often take up all the donations in running costs, wages, etc and also to avoid unscrupulous middlemen on the ground.

A return airfare will cost around $2100 AUD plus taxes and insurance, I have some frequent flyer points to go towards the flights but not enough to to cover all the travel.

Accomodation in Poland will cost approximately $600 AUD for the duration of my stay.
