Hi, I'm Ellen. This is my first Go Fund Me, and I am setting this up to create an avenue for anyone who chooses to help two amazing neighbors rebuild their home. On the morning of Friday, October 29th, an electrical fire broke out in Chris & Anne's home, resulting in substantial - and likely irreparable - damage. Some of us know Chris & Anne as dear neighbors of Littledale Street. Some of us know them as the creators of Roslindale Spins that brought live vinyl - and let's be honest, some much needed joy and connection these last 18 months - to living rooms across Rozzie and beyond. Some of us know them as essential workers at Dana Farber or colleagues at Toast. And all of us know them as really kind humans. The kind of humans that create a DIY candy shoot so that no pandemic can stop kids on our street from getting to celebrate Halloween in new and (still) fun ways. The kind of humans that in situations as devastating as this are grounded in gratitude and what they still have, each other.

 

AND: we all know that place matters. The places we choose to build and spend our lives in - the things we collect that are infused with meaning & memory - matter. No one knows what it will look like for Chris & Anne to rebuild what they were in the process of making their forever home, but we can know that there are people as good as they are that are rooting for them & supporting them in whatever way they can. There are many ways to do so, but one way is to give them a few extra resources to help make hard decisions, replace what can be replaced, and figure out the next steps on their journey - whether it's $5, $50, or $500. This little fundraiser is meant to provide a way to do just that and has been set up to go directly to Chris & Anne as beneficiaries. So here's to them and their future, which hopefully brings them back to what they would call the best little home on the best little street. With candy shoots.
