Help Chris & Bruce Get The Home They Deserve
Hi. I'm Dave. That's totally inconsequential though, for now. EVERYONE, Meet Christopher Walter. Chris is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met. He is smart, witty, quick, loving, caring, an amazing artist, and a great father.
Chris is on the spectrum. He is very high functioning. His son Bruce is also on the spectrum, and so far, very high functioning. These two have been through A LOT together. Without getting into the specifics of things, Chris has been made to live through Hell, and Bruce has been pretty grossly manipulated by an individual we won't talk about here for legal reasons. I can unequivocally say though, that to impress the sorts of things that this person has upon ANY CHILD, let alone an autistic child, is a pretty despicable thing.
Moving on Chris finally got out of that situation. He moved out of his own apartment to get away from it. He moved in with someone he thought he could trust. He moved in with someone who promised him a safe haven for him and his amazing son. Yeah, FAIL. The guy has turned out to be an absolute nightmare to live with, and after some very unprofessional behavior as a roommate, and with Chris reacting to this poor behavior, the guy has now asked Chris and his son to leave, effectively making them homeless next weekend.
Back to me... This is my homeboy. I can't stand by idly, and watch him become homeless. Not him, OR BRUCE. Bruce didn't ask for this nonsense. Bruce is only a few years old, and should not have already been exposed to what he has been, and definitely shouldn't be further exposed to any more BS. I'm not going to pretend I know what it's like to live in this harsh world when you're on the spectrum, but I know it is more of a challenge than what I face every day.
The goal of this campaign is to secure $15,000 USD, of which every cent will be donated directly to Chris, for him to have enough money to A. Find and secure a 1-2 bedroom apartment in Philadelphia. B. Have enough money to physically move, with help if need be (He doesn't have that much stuff). C. To have enough in savings to pay rent on said apartment for him and Bruce for one year. From that point, Chris will be on his own, and should have had enough time to get established, settled, and find some semblance of normalcy in his life. I should have done this months ago, but hey, we're doing it now.

He has done several pieces free of charge for me, both before and after my former service dog passed away, (Who, by the way, had his own very successful 10K campaign to save his life on this very site in 2017, and we made national news: https://www.foxnews.com/health/veteran-takes-ailing-service-dog-on-cross-country-road-trip-for-life-saving-surgery)
Here is an example of some of that work:
Look, I know money is tight right now, for everyone with the current global climate. That's why I am starting the donation train off with donating myself towards this cause. Please help. I promise you, after donating, you can feel REALLY GOOD about what you've just done, because this is one of those causes that is truly, honestly pure. Not only are you helping a starving artist who deserves to see nothing but good in his life, you are helping out a child who is effectively being made at least partially homeless in a few days.
HELP CHRIS AND BRUCE. A WORTHY CAUSE.
