My name is Thuong (Tina). I am from Vietnam but moved to Canada a couple years ago. I am raising funds to help people, especially children, in my hometown after they were struck by flooding.

East Dak Lak province (formerly known as Phu Yen province) is my hometown. My heart aches seeing my people suffer, especially the children. Recent typhoon, followed by devasting floods have struck the region. The floods submerged thousands of houses in water up to the roof. Families were trapped, climbing to rooftops and calling for help, isolated for days as they waited for rescue. The devastation is overwhelming.

The disasters resulted in homes destroyed, human and animal lives lost, communities struggling, and countless families left with literally nothing. Among those most affected are the children who have lost their books, school supplies, and even basic clothing.

As cleanup begins, these children face an uncertain future. Education is their hope, their path forward, but without the essentials, returning to school is nearly impossible.
