Every child deserves to grow up safe, loved, and free from fear. Sadly, in Dominica, too many children experience the trauma of domestic violence. Behind closed doors, many children witness or endure violence that leaves deep emotional scars.

LifeLine Ministries has been standing on the frontlines of this crisis. Under Dominica’s Domestic Violence Act, survivors have the right to protection, but laws alone are not enough—children need safe spaces to heal. Last year alone, LifeLine supported over 100 children and 50 adults (48 women) who faced domestic violence. Through its confidential helpline, survivors were provided with psychosocial support, referrals to services, temporary refuge, and ongoing social work assistance—always following a survivor-centered approach.

But we know more is needed. Many children identified through the helpline continue to struggle with fear, sadness, and trauma. They need daily care, guidance, and a place to simply be children again.

That’s why LifeLine Ministries, in collaboration with Breadfruit House is creating a Safe Space for Children—a child-centered program where children affected by domestic violence can find stability, hope, and healing.

What this Safe Space will offer:
