“Your leukemia is back…”
Last week Cheyenne was rushed to the emergency room describing severe pain in her abdomen. Once in the emergency room, upon a thorough examination a mass the size of a grapefruit was discovered in her bladder. Stricken with panic this ER visit just became a high priority case ensuing immediate transport to KU where she would undergo further testing and diagnostics as well as a close monitor on her heart..

Why are we monitoring her heart?
Well you see Cheyenne is nothing short of a miracle being born with a single ventricle heart and undergoing open heart surgery at 3 months and again at 2 years this bright eyed young woman wasn’t given much hope at surviving past infancy but at the young age of 30 has surpassed all odds. Although she has overcame more health hurdles than most do in our lives she was again faced witht another hurdle to conquer. Merely 6 years ago cheyenne was diagnosed with leukemia. Defying all odds once again Cheyenne underwent a bone marrow transplant and has successfully been in remission since. So as you can image when you’re struck with the words “your leukemia is back” your heart hits the floor. Now, with a daughter and a husband Cheyenne has even more to worry about loosing. After receiving this very sudden and devastating news Cheyenne and her family have now been saddled with additional travel, lodging, food and childcare expenses. With the loss of income the financial burden is becoming increasingly overwhelming and Chey and Jon need all the help they can get. For those of you who have met Chey and Jon know that they would give you the shirt off their back to help those in need no matter the circumstance their hearts are larger than life.
