My name is Nicole, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my friend Chelsie and her two children, Jessica and Tagen. Chelsea recently inherited her parents’ doublewide after their passing, and she’s working hard to make it a safe and comfortable home for her family. Chelsea’s son, Tagen, is old enough to remember his grandfather, who spent sixteen years in a wheelchair after a career as a carpenter. Tagen loves God, boxing, and making TikTok videos. He dreams of having a zip line and a trampoline in the yard to play on. Jessica, Chelsea’s daughter, loves to swing at the park, read books, and play. Their swing set at home needs new swings, and a hammock area would give them a fun place to hang out together. The yard used to be well-kept, but now it’s overgrown and needs attention. The fireplace, once a place for holiday gatherings, now has a wood stove instead of the old gas logs. Chelsea’s mom was known for her amazing cooking, and the kitchen holds many memories. The living room features a huge ten-point buck her dad shot before his wheelchair days, and it’s always a conversation starter for visitors. The home has seen countless cookouts and birthday parties with grandparents and friends, and Chelsea hopes to restore it so her children can make their own memories.

The repairs needed are extensive: rebuilding the porch, fixing the foundation, replacing the electric furnace and ductwork, adding insulation, painting, installing new kitchen cabinets, updating tile and flooring, and replacing windows. The driveway needs gravel and better drainage, and a small tool shed would help keep the yard tidy.
