On October 5th, our family’s world changed forever when Charlotte’s dad, Mike, passed away tragically in a motor vehicle accident.
Mike was so much more than a dad — he was Charlotte’s teacher, her biggest fan, and her everyday adventure partner. He read to her each night, cheered proudly at piano recitals, and passed on his deep love of animals and farm life. He was the kind of father who made ordinary days magical, shaping Charlotte’s childhood through the time and joy he poured into every moment together. They built snow forts together, spent summer days splashing in lakes and rivers, turned frozen ponds into skating obstacle courses, and spent hours in the driveway perfecting her bike skills. Whether they were bouncing on the trampoline or exploring the outdoors, Mike taught Charlotte to see the world with curiosity, confidence, and wonder — lessons that will stay with her forever.
Charlotte is only 10 years old. Right now, she needs stability, care, and the kind of support that will allow her to keep growing into the healthy & curious girl her dad was working so hard to raise. We are asking for help to ensure Charlotte’s needs are met — emotionally, medically, and practically — as she navigates life without her dad.
Alongside the heartbreak, there are practical realities to face. As a single-income parent, Charlotte’s mom is doing everything possible to provide stability and care. Mike supported Charlotte emotionally, physically and financially to the best of his abilities. Charlotte’s care was of the utmost importance to Mike, however, like many, he did not have the means to ensure Charlotte would be supported financially in the event of a tragedy such as this.
This fund will help bridge that gap —relieving financial burden and ensuring Charlotte has continued access to basic living and medical expenses, should they arise.
How donations will be used
All funds will go directly to Charlotte’s care and will be managed by Laura Bell, Charlotte’s mother.
Specifically, donations will pay for:
• Basic living expenses (groceries, utilities, school supplies, clothing).
• Grief & trauma counselling to support Charlotte’s emotional healing.
• An emergency fund to ensure Charlotte’s needs are met as she grows.
Who is organizing and who will manage the funds?
This campaign is organized by Kim Bell & Angie Bryan, Charlotte’s aunts. Funds will be held by Laura Bell, mother, who is Charlotte’s legal guardian. Laura has opened a bank account in Charlotte’s name where funds will be housed.
How you can help right now
1. Donate what you can. Every gift matters.
2. Share this page — a quick share to your social feed, neighborhood group, or community can help us find more support.
3. If you have resources (counsellors, therapists, music teachers, or community programs) who can help Charlotte, please message us.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. We are so grateful for the love and support shown to Charlotte and her family during this impossible time.
With gratitude,
Kim & Angie
