With 15 years of military service in the US Army, Maggie and I know the inconveniences and struggles of being a military family. With that in mind, we decided, along with a lifelong friend John Dorsey, to start this non-profit to provide Ohio Veterans and their families an opportunity to spend time outdoors and reconnect not only with nature but with themselves and their families.

Charlie Mike is from the military phonetic alphabet and is an Army acronym to continue mission. We are looking to help those veterans and families in need to continue their mission in either high or low times.

With our first location based in the heart of northeast Ohio, our nonprofit is dedicated to giving back to those who have given so much—our veterans and their families. We believe the outdoors offers more than fresh air; it brings healing, connection, and joy. That’s why we provide free recreational activities such as hunting trips, hiking excursions, camping weekends, and other family-friendly events.

These experiences foster camaraderie, strengthen family bonds, and support mental and emotional well-being. By removing financial barriers, we ensure that every veteran—regardless of circumstances—can enjoy the restorative power of nature.

With your support, we can expand our programs, reach more families, and create lasting memories that honor their service. Together, we can turn our property into a place of renewal, gratitude, and hope for the men and women who have served our country, and the loved ones who stand beside them.
