I’m starting this GoFundMe for my elderly friend Charles, a kind, humble man who has been through more than most—and is finally getting a chance at stability. Charles simply does not have the resources to make the repairs needed to turn this house into a safe, livable home. It requires extensive clean-out before repairs can even begin.

What the House Needs: Significant repairs and cleanup, including electrical repairs (unsafe and outdated wiring), plumbing repairs (there is a leak in the main water line right after the meter in the yard), trash and debris removal, landscaping and yard cleanup, basic interior clean-out, new kitchen cabinets, new appliances (stove, refrigerator), and general repairs to make the home safe and functional. Charles’ goal is simple and practical: Once the home is repaired, he hopes to rent out a room to help supplement his limited income and maintain independence.
