Most of you know we lost Tracy in November, my cousin Charles' wife. And my soul sister. Since then, Charles has had estate sales, selling off his and her personal items, their memories, to help pay his bills each month now that Tracy is gone. He is very handy and does odd jobs to earn money. Sadly, he was also laid off from his part time job. He lost so much more than half of his income (both of them on social security) when she was called home way too early and very unexpectedly But the reality is, half his income (and his whole heart) is gone now.
Charles has been diagnosed with throat cancer. He doesn't smoke, he doesn't drink. He is the friendliest, God-loving, animal loving, good hearted , family man. The treatment: 2 months of chemo, surgery to remove part of his esophagus after that, he will be on a feeding tube until his throat heals and then 2 more months of chemo. He won't be able to do his handyman jobs to make ends meet. He and Tracy built that house to be a home, and she is very much still there in spirit, and he wants to be able to stay there. But without being able to work his odd jobs for quite a while, leaving the house payment, utilities, groceries, and transportation up in the air. With just social security income it’s a scary place to be at 67 years old and it’s not enough ..no one plans on this. Please help us help him stay in his home until he is well enough to work again. No donation is too small, and all donations go straight to him to pay bills while he fights cancer... and wins.
