Charlene Benton — lovingly known to us as “Nanny” — is the matriarch of five generations and the heart of our family. At 87 years old, she has lived a life defined by selflessness, grace, and quiet strength. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and now great-great-grandmother, she has touched countless lives with her kindness and unwavering love.

On Sunday evening, Nanny suffered a serious fall and broke her femur. She underwent surgery on Monday, where a rod and screws were placed in her leg, and she is now beginning a difficult recovery in a rehabilitation facility.

As our family prepares to welcome her home, we are raising funds to make her living space safer and more accessible. Specifically, we need help covering the cost of:

Remodeling her bathroom to ensure it is safe and accessible for her new mobility needs

Replacing the flooring in her kitchen, which currently poses a fall risk

These changes are essential for Nanny to return home safely and continue living with dignity and comfort. She has spent her life putting others first, and now it’s our turn to show up for her.
