Help Chao Vang Fight Deportation & Keep His Family Together
Donazione protetta
UPDATE 8/5/25: My dad has been processed and we believe he has been moved to a facility in TX, although we are not 100% sure. We were almost certain that he will be deported to Laos soon.
We thank you for your contributions so far as they have been keeping my grandma, brothers, and sister afloat. Now we are humbly asking for your help to raise funds to help support my dad overseas. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help! Thank you!
Hi, my name is Sheena Vang, and I am raising funds to help my father, Chao Vang, who is facing deportation and urgently needs legal assistance.
My father is a 60-year-old single father who has always worked hard to care for his family. He is the sole provider and caretaker for his elderly mother, who is 76, and his children. Recently, he was detained by ICE and is being threatened with deportation to Laos, a country he hasn't known since he was a child.
My father has lived an honest and peaceful life here in the United States. He is not a criminal. He has never committed a crime in this country, always following the rules, checking in with Immigration and Customs Enforcement annually as instructed. He is a refugee of war, escaping from communist persecution in Laos in 1975. He fled to France with his parents and sisters, seeking asylum. He later came to the US as an adult for a better life, where he finally married and started his family of seven children. After 25 years of marriage, his wife left him and our family, leaving him as the primary provider and caretaker.
The day my father went to check in with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office as instructed was the day he was detained. His detention has devastated our family. Without him, my grandmother, brothers, and sister are at risk of losing their home. They are already facing eviction warnings and the possibility of being separated to different states. We do not know how they will manage basic living expenses, let alone the legal costs required to fight for him.
We are humbly asking for your help to raise funds that will go toward attorney fees to fight his deportation and to cover rent and essential bills during this crisis. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help us in this difficult time. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our story with your friends, family, and community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support.
