Hello everyone,

My name is Yvonne Swaby-Craib, and my cousin Burnaur James and I are originally from Chantilly Gardens, Westmoreland, Jamaica. We both currently live in the United States, but our hearts remain deeply connected to our hometown and the people who shaped us.

My heart is heavy

seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, which has left so many families in my home community struggling to recover. Homes have been destroyed, families displaced and many are without food, clean water and basic necessities.

I have created this fundraiser to help my families, friends and neighbors in Chantilly Gardens and surrounding communities who have been severely affected by Hurricane Melissa

Many people in my hometown have lost their homes, belongings and access to basis necessities. As someone who grew up there, I personally know many of the families who are now struggling to recover. These are people I grew up with - relative, friends and long-time community members who now need urgent support.

The funds collected will be used directly to help purchase and distribute:

. Food and clean drinking water

. Clothing and personal care items

. Materials and supplies to repair damaged homes

I will ensure that all funds are used responsibly and transparently, with updates shared on how donations are being spent and who is being helped.

My goal is to make sure every dollar goes where it is most needed to restore hope and stability to the people of my community and surrounding areas.
