In September 2024 my beautiful Nan got diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Just 4 weeks later she quickly deteriorated and sadly Passed away. The last 2 years before this, her health and mobility steadily declined and she dealt with a lot of pain. She had been seen my multiple doctors and specialists and the illness was missed numerous times. If this was found earlier she could have started treatment to prolong the onset of the most severe symptoms of this incurable illness.
Most people with MND are diagnosed at 40. my nan was diagnosed at 75. It’s a life shortening illness which affects how you walk, talk, eat, drink, breathe, think and behave. There is currently no cure.
My nan was a huge part of our family and is dearly missed and so I am going to run the Manchester Marathon in memory of her! I would hope to raise money for the MNDA in a hope to find a cure for this awful disease so many more people don’t have to suffer ❤️
Any donation small or big will make a difference
