Background

Over the last four weeks, I have started and stopped this update 20 times. Since October of 2022, I have been noticing many unhealthy behaviors from King. The escalation of these behaviors were indicators to me that he needed professional help to help him in the healing process. Due to the extreme trauma experienced in King’s past, I have prayerfully decided this is the best next step for him to live in healing and freedom. King is an anointed worshipper and community builder. He is made by God to welcome others into His kingdom. 

Through prayer, I felt the Lord nudging me to research boys' therapy camps with these specific things - small, outdoorsy, have animals, and is Jesus centered. God delivered King the perfect opportunity – a dude ranch on the side of a mountain called, Oasis, where a small group of boys gets to grow in the Lord while also catching up on school and learning life skills. The place is run by a man named Matt who is a cowboy and psychologist. He teaches the boys how to care for the ranch, while also facilitating life-changing therapy. My heart for King during this season is that this would be “a time in the wilderness with nothing hindering him from healing.”

After taking a few weeks to get King settled and get back to New York. I knew that I needed to humble myself and share about our last few months and ask you for your help.

How can you help?

We need two things; the first thing we need is prayer warriors. People who are constant in prayer day and night for King and me. The second thing we need is for people and churches to partner with us financially. Oasis recommends that King stay for a minimum of 10 months. The expected cost of King's stay at Oasis is approximately $65,000. This does not include the cost of anything that King might need outside of the Oasis costs (e.g. - special school curriculum, outside counseling sessions, etc.), Crystal’s visits, or bringing King home. Her overall goal is to raise $75,000. Please take some time to pray and ask the Lord if he is asking you to partner with me to change King's life.
