We can't thank you all enough!!

Chance Jensen hit his goal! You guys are absolutely amazing! We are so blessed for each and everyone one of you that donated and shared his post. This has been very humbling. Words can not describe how grateful we are.

As parents you want to fix the problem, but at the same time use it as a learning experience. I know he will never forget this experience. It was emotionally painful, but fixable. I'm thankful to all of you that helped fix this. The seeing a community come together is absolutely beautiful.

Thank you all very much!!

Below is a personal thank you from Chance.

Hello, my name is chance. I thought I wouldn't be able to get a new saxophone, but thanks to my parents idea and your kind donations, you guys made it possible for me to get a brand new saxophone. This new saxophone will help me get me through college. I am very grateful for each one of you, even if all you did was spread the message, this helped me achieve something I didn't think was possible. Over the course of a few days you guys have gotten me to my goal. I will now be able to continue playing in band and try out for state. Thank you so much, and have a blessed day.

Chance is a sophomore at Van Horn High School who has dedicated himself to music since the sixth grade. He’s a straight-A student, a published poet, and a committed member of both the band and the wrestling team. Recently, Chance made a big decision: instead of buying a car, he took out a loan to purchase a Yamaha YAS 62III Alto Saxophone, hoping to play it through college and beyond. His dream instrument is a Selmer Paris 92 Supreme Professional Saxophone, but he was proud to own the Yamaha and worked hard to make it his own.

Just today, while helping with a wrestling fundraiser at Santa-Cali-Gon, a devastating accident occurred—Chance’s new saxophone was accidentally run over by another person. The loss hit him hard; he was heartbroken and said it felt like losing a child. Out of respect for the person responsible, a teacher, Chance and his family have chosen not to pursue an insurance claim, hoping to avoid causing hardship for someone who supports students every day.

Fall is the busiest time for marching band, and Chance has four band competitions, football games, a solo, and a quartet for district competitions coming up. He practices daily and spends Wednesday nights with the marching band. Music is more than a hobby for Chance—it’s his passion and a path to college scholarships. He’s a respectful, responsible young person who always strives to be his best. Every cent raised will go directly to helping Chance replace his saxophone and continue pursuing his musical dreams. Thank you for supporting Chance and believing in his future.
