Help CFA Recover After Lightning Strike Damage
Tax deductible
On the evening of July 16th, a terrifying lightning strike hit a structure on the property of Chesapeake Feline Association’s main shelter. The bolt caused smoke and electrical damage, prompting the swift evacuation of our shelter manager, her family, and several cats.
Thankfully, no one was injured, and the fire department responded quickly, clearing the facility after a thorough inspection. However, the aftermath revealed serious concerns with the shelter’s electrical system. After consulting with a licensed electrician, it’s been determined that we need approximately $5,000 in critical rewiring to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, and—most importantly—our cats. As well as additional funds for emergency supplies, generator, tree removal, etc.
We’re a small nonprofit that relies entirely on donations, and this unexpected expense is a heavy burden on our already tight budget. Every dollar raised will go directly toward repairing the electrical damage and restoring a safe environment for the people and animals who call CFA home.
Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. Your support helps us continue our mission of rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for cats in need.
Thank you for standing with us in this emergency—we are grateful beyond words.
