Help Cesar Jacobo Garcia's recovery from cancer
Donation protected
My father, Cesar Jacobo Garcia, was first diagnosed with stage three tonsil cancer in September 2021. Although the diagnosis was difficult, he and our whole family felt optimistic about overcoming this horrible disease. Soon after, we sought medical attention; the oncologist and radiologist suggested a three-month plan of three chemotherapies combined with 32 radiation therapies. Throughout this journey, he was deteriorating by the day, losing over 55 pounds as he was unable to intake anything through the mouth. During these three months, he had a gastronomy tube placed, making it tough to do essential activities such as working, brushing teeth, and showering. Fortunately, in December 2021, he finished his treatments, and the oncologist, through a series of CT and PET scans, found that the malignant tumor had disappeared. Soon after we received the news, the whole family was relieved to overcome such a difficult period and were excited to see what the future had in store for us. In the following months, he entered the remission stage and began getting back to his everyday life. In September of 2022, our life again took a turn as he began to display similar symptoms he had previously shown when he was first diagnosed. The ongoing symptoms kept worsening in the upcoming months until February when he was diagnosed with larynx cancer; according to the ENT, the tumor had spread to nearby organs and was now in stage four. This devastating news once again took our family by surprise because of the rapid pace at which it returned. Following this diagnosis, my father had a tracheostomy in February, and this May underwent a ten-hour laryngectomy surgery that removed his voice box, thyroid, tonsils, lymph nodes on the left side of his neck, and part of his esophagus. On behalf of our family, we kindly ask for your support in his fight against cancer and his long path toward recovery. He and our family have been unable to work consistently over the past two years, making it difficult to uphold medical expenses and house bills. Any donation, no matter how little or big, will be greatly appreciated and will mean a lot to our family.
