On October 4, 2023, our brave Maya — only 9 years old at the time — was diagnosed with Stage 4 T-Cell Lymphoma. Doctors discovered a large mass covering the left side of her chest and spreading to the right. It was every parent’s worst nightmare.

Since that day, Maya has endured 848 long days of treatment — an unimaginably tough road for such a young girl. Her journey has included:

Over 20 lumbar punctures

A biopsy

Surgery to place an IVAD

Countless rounds of chemotherapy, both IV and oral

⚕️ Steroids, PICC lines, and multiple hospital stays

… and so much more than any child should ever have to face.

Through it all, Maya has shown nothing but strength, courage, and resilience. She’s a true warrior — brave, determined, and full of light even on her hardest days.

In February 2024, we were overjoyed to hear the words every family prays for — Maya was in remission.

Now, after everything she’s been through, Maya is expected to ring the bell on January 29, 2026, marking the end of her treatment and the beginning of a new, cancer-free chapter of her life.

But the truth is, Maya has missed out on so much of her childhood — over two years of school days, vacations, soccer games, sleepovers, and simple moments with friends. We don’t want these 848 days of hospitals and chemo to be what she remembers most about her cancer journey.

️ A shopping trip to the mall for a brand-new outfit from head to toe

Hair and makeup to make her feel like the superstar she is

A limo ride to an Edmonton Oilers game — where she can see her hero, Connor McDavid, live in action

And to share it all with her best friend, who has been by her side through it all
