Hello! My little sister Cecilia, came down with several different viruses including flu A and flu H1N1 and her health deteriorated until she needed emergency care. She was transferred from St. Anthony Hospital to Central Dupage Hospital on the 13th of February. After many tests it was determined that she needed to be in the ICU and they also put in a PICC line for IV nutrition. Cecilia has down Syndrome and Autism and this whole experience has been very traumatic. She has also contracted other viruses during her stay so any progress has been slow if not gone. Mom and Dad have been with her in the hospital but dad needed to go back to work after 5 days and drives to and from the hospital every evening and morning before and after work. This extended hospital stay has put a strain on their finances and their emotional and mental health and they do not know when they will be discharged. Their insurance has stated they will not cover the transportation between the hospitals so that will be an out of pocket cost as well. Mom and Dad have always been more than generous and would give whatever they have, be it time, talent, or resources in a heart beat if asked. My hope is that this fundraiser would help alleviate some of the many worries they have so that they can focus on caring for Cecilia and also themselves. Cecilia has been a light and joy in our life since her birth and we really just want her home and back to her music loving, dancing, crazy, self.
