Hi everyone, my name is Gabby, and I’m a hairstylist based in Vancouver, Canada with roots in Cebu, Philippines.
Just a few weeks ago, my hometown was shaken by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake which is one of the strongest to hit Cebu in years. Buildings cracked, homes collapsed, and hundreds of families were left without shelter. People are still sleeping outside, afraid to return indoors because of aftershocks.
And now, before the island could even begin to recover, Typhoon Tino has swept through. It’s bringing heavy rains, flooding, and even more destruction. Many families who were already displaced by the earthquake are now facing a second disaster, losing what little they had left.
Seeing the photos and messages from friends and relatives back home has been heartbreaking. These are the streets I grew up on and now they’re filled with debris and uncertainty. I knew I couldn’t just watch from afar.
That’s why I’m organizing a fundraiser called “Care 4 Cebu” where I’ll be donating proceeds from my hairstyling services and collecting donations to help families directly impacted by both the earthquake and the typhoon.
Your donation will go toward:
Emergency relief supplies — food, clean water, hygiene kits and support for families and small communities recovering from both disasters
No donation is too small! Even $10 can go a long way in providing food, clean water, or a blanket to someone who lost their home.
If you can’t donate right now, please share this page to help spread awareness. Every share helps us reach more people who care.
Why Hair?
As a hairstylist, I believe beauty and care go hand in hand with community. This is why I chose to use my skills in doing hair to help make a change. Our special event is called “Care 4 Cebu” and it’s a one-day fundraiser on November 13, 2025 where proceeds from haircuts and styling services will go directly to Typhoon Tino relief. Clients and supporters can book an appointment (please message us directly @belueur_ on instagram to book an appointment), donate, or simply come by to show support.
This GoFundMe is for those who can’t attend in person but still want to help make a difference.
Cebu has always been known for its resilience and heart. But after being hit by both an earthquake and a typhoon back-to-back, the community needs us more than ever. Together, we can help them rebuild, recover, and rise again.
Salamat kaayo (thank you so much) for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
