Hello, friends and compassionate hearts,
Late on the night of September 30, 2025, a powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Cebu, with its epicenter about 17 km northeast of Bogo City.
This disaster has devastated communities in northern and central Cebu, including:
• Bogo City
• San Remigio
• Medellin, Tabogon, Tabuelan, and Sogod
• Daanbantayan, Bantayan Island, and surrounding towns
As of now, at least 69 people have lost their lives and hundreds more are injured. Families have been displaced overnight—many without homes, food, or clean drinking water.
We are raising funds to provide urgent relief:
• Food supplies (rice, canned goods, ready-to-eat meals)
• Clean drinking water
• Basic daily necessities (hygiene essentials)
• My connection to the cause:
I am originally from the Philippines but now live in Canada. Although I am not from Cebu, I was heartbroken seeing the devastation caused by the recent 6.9-magnitude earthquake in North Cebu. I wanted to do something to help the people affected—especially those in remote areas where relief hasn’t reached—so I started this fundraiser to provide them with food and clean water.
• How I connected with Princess Abueva: I saw Princess Abueva’s posts on her Facebook page about raising funds and personally helping deliver relief goods to the affected families. I reached out to her and told her that I would raise additional funds using GoFundMe to support her efforts.
• How I will transfer the funds: Once the funds are released, I will send the amount I’ve raised directly to Princess Abueva via bank transfer/remittance so she can continue purchasing and distributing food and water to the families in need.
All donations will go to Princess Abueva, a blogger from Bohol who is currently in Cebu, raising funds and delivering relief to affected families.
