Hi, I’m Cat. I’m a mom of four, a wife, and a caregiver to an honorably discharged Army veteran. We lost our vehicle two years ago due to a lightning strike that caused the vehicle to be totaled due to electrical damages. We did have gap insurance but unfortunately didn’t have car replacement insurance. We initially ended up getting electric scooters to be able to get around for groceries and for me to get to and from work, and that has worked for us. But I recently found out I’m expecting baby number 5, and I am due in May I have hyperemesis gravidarum. I won’t be able to ride my scooter for much longer. I am reaching out to the community for help because I was adopted as a baby and I don’t have any family that I can ask to help me in this time of need. I am a hard worker and work full-time. We’ve had a difficult time obtaining a new vehicle because our credit took a hit during COVID, and we’ve been trying to rebuild it. But with our rent increasing $1,000, it’s put us in a tough spot. My husband, Michael, has PTSD, TBI, and back injuries from his time in Iraq. He struggles daily with these issues, and riding the scooter is not ideal for him because of the daily pains he has. If you’re able to donate, we would forever be grateful and will pay it forward once we are in a position to do so. If you can’t donate, please share our story with anyone who may be able to help. We will be using the money for either a down payment for a vehicle or, if we can raise enough, we would like to purchase a car with cash so we wouldn’t have to worry about a monthly payment. I will also use some of the money for Uber/Lyft once I’m unable to ride my scooter.
Thank you for your time and support. This wasn’t easy for me to put out there because I don’t like asking anyone for anything.
