Happy Holidays, my name is Catie and I’m asking for help with money to pay rent and monthly bills after fleeing an emotionally and borderline physically abusive relationship. I am going through the divorce process and I have gained temporary full custody of my youngest daughter as well as a restraining order against my alcoholic mentally ill husband. His mental illness and alcoholism is what makes him aggressive and destructive. He relapsed after almost two years of being sober and my daughter finally being of age to understand what’s going on is what’s lead me to finally end our toxic 9-year relationship. During this relapse, which began Christmas Eve, he has drained our bank account completely and trashed our house (which terrified my daughter, it has now been cleaned since.), leaving me to pay rent and bills with money from my job I just returned to on December 27th. These generous donations will help my daughter and I continue to live in our apartment, which is all I can do to keep the same routine in my daughter’s life in a time where she’s confused about why her father acted “like a monster” and then disappeared.
