Help Catanduanes (Philippines) Rebuild After Typhoon Pepito
Donation protected
I am Yllaisa Gianan, a native of Catanduanes, Philippines - an island in the country which is only accessible by plane or boat. I may be physically outside of the country, but my mind, heart and soul is in Catanduanes and with its people.
People back home suffered from a catastrophic Category 5 typhoon/hurricane (Typhoon Pepito/Man-Yi). They only have limited basic essentials and no power, potable water or mobile network coverage. Most importantly, no roofs above their heads for the next days or even months and a limited food supply to feed their families.
Houses there are made of very light materials, most of them are washed up by water and/or blown by strong gusts of wind. A lot of these communities would be considered the poorest of the poor and have lost their sources of income (fishing and farming) since the typhoon has destroyed their crops and resources.
People are tired, worried, and devastated before, during and after the storm - and the least we could do is to lend a hand and make sure that they feel that the world is with them and we empathize with them.
Funds will go directly to far-flung, hardest hit communities.
Let us help Catandunganons - let's give them a glimpse of hope and let's restore their faith in humanity. Let us aid them to overcome and rise above these challenges they're facing right now.
Thank you for everyone who donated and share the link. I, together with the people of Catanduanes are truly grateful for you. May the help you have given will bring more blessings in your life.
Total Amount of Donation: 1882 USD
Update: We are currently purchasing the needs and in coordination with people from the island for the logistics. We'll keep you updated.
