Castro Patrol has been helping keep the Castro neighborhood safe since 2006. Our walking safety patrols continue to be staffed by non-paid volunteers. We have expanded our community services through low-cost self-defense and active shooter workshops open to the public.

We became a stand-alone 501(c)(3) nonprofit after the collapse of our previous fiscal sponsor in 2023. Their failure meant the end of City grants. One of the largest expenses is insurance, which currently costs us $9,000 per year. The original sponsor provided insurance coverage at no cost.
