Dear Friends and Community Members,

We are reaching out today with an urgent and heartfelt plea to help our dear neighbor, client and friend Cassie, who is facing an imminent threat of eviction from her beloved home. Cassie is a retired woman living on a limited income, and she urgently needs $7,000 to avoid being forcibly removed from her home. She lives each day under the terrifying cloud that a sheriff may come to her door with an eviction notice.

The situation began nine years ago when Cassie sold a piece of property to her neighbor, which has since led to a bitter dispute. Despite her best efforts to resolve the issue amicably, her neighbor has now taken extreme legal measures. Cassie was recently served with a writ of seizure, a chilling document that threatens to take away the home she has cherished for so long.

Cassie has been a pillar of our Georgian Bay community for over 20 years. She is the founder of our local community group, and her tireless efforts have helped shape and nurture the place we all call home. We have had the honor of being Cassie’s neighbor for the past four years, and a client and friend for almost 15 years and during this time, we have witnessed her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. However, her health has been deteriorating, and the constant stress and duress from this ongoing conflict have taken a severe toll on her well-being.

Cassie's home is for sale but until that happens the thought of being forced out like this is both unfair and heartbreaking. No one should have to live with the fear of losing their home, especially someone who has given so much to her community.

This is why we are organizing this GoFundMe campaign—to rally together and support Cassie in her time of need. We need to raise $7,000 as quickly as possible to prevent her eviction and allow her to stay in her home until she can sell it on her terms. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference.
