Help Cash Heal After Devastating Accident

Hi Friends,

I am reaching out to ask for support for my partner and our sweet Love Tribe friend, Cash Melvin. On late Monday night, July 21st, Cash was riding his brand new ebike by his home in Southern Colorado, when he was hit by a car and left unconscious on the side of the road. He woke several hours later and only by grace and adrenalin was able to shuffle home.

Cash was airlifted to Colorado Springs where we found out he has 9 broken ribs, a broken collar bone, a broken shoulder and 3 fractured vertebrae, and a punctured lung. He was in ICU for several days and we though he was ok until he had to have an emergency procedure to drain blood and fluid from his lung. Adverse reactions to medicines, extraordinary pain, immobility, and loss of income are creating a huge amount of stress and worry for what the future may hold.

Cash has a long road of recovery ahead and may not be able to return to work for up to a year. We have high hopes that this isn't the reality. Even through the stress and pain if you ask him how he's doing, he still says, "It's all good." If you know and love Cash, you know he's going to stay as positive as humanly possible through it all.

We are raising funds to cover the medical expenses that insurance won't cover, loss of income, and home health equipment to assist in his recovery. We really don't know what to expect. Neither one of us has been through anything like this. I will have to be at home full time to care for him and will lose my main source of income as well. Insurance doesn't cover home health care needs. We both work in the festival community and our jobs require physical strength and stamina. Cash has always been one of the strongest people I know, but it will be many many months before the Cash I know can be out on the circuit helping at every turn and making everyone smile.
