Help Casey and rhys and their family

Hi my name is Ashley, I've organised this go fund me page for my sister Casey and her husband Rhys and their two little girls. Casey is due to give birth to their baby boy any week now and unfortunately has just discovered this week via a routine scan that their little boy has been diagnosed with CDH Congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

(CDH) occurs when there is a hole in the diaphragm, which is the thin sheet of muscle separating the chest from the abdomen. When this gap forms during a fetus' development in the womb, the bowel, stomach or even the liver can move into the chest cavity. This is going to be a long road for them which will mean time away from the girls while in Melbourne at RCH with bubs, but as you all may be aware this is actually their 2nd child born with CDH which is already quite rare. Emma was born with this horrible condition as well and had to stay in the RCH for a few months after her life saving surgery. The fact that this family are facing this rare diagnosis for a second time is heartbreaking and will cause some financial burden for them as they navigate this path a second time.
