Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for a little help for my son, Carter. He’s 13 years old and has the kindest heart. From a very young age, Carter has loved to sing—not for attention, but because it brings joy to others. Over time, that love has grown into something really special.
Carter spends his time busking to raise money for charities close to his heart, including those supporting people with COPD, asthma and lung conditions, and prostate cancer. He also sings in care homes across the UK, performing for people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and learning difficulties. Seeing people smile, sing along, or simply feel a moment of happiness means everything to him.
He’s even performed at local shows, galas, and charity events—always giving his time and voice to help others.
But behind that kindness is a young boy who has faced some really difficult challenges. Carter has experienced severe bullying at school, which led to him being home educated. Singing has become his safe space—his way of expressing himself, processing his emotions, and finding happiness again. It’s more than a hobby; it’s how he copes, heals, and connects with the world.
Unfortunately, his busking equipment has now stopped working, and without it, he can’t continue doing what he loves most—singing for others and raising money for important causes.
We’re hoping to raise funds to get Carter a new speaker and microphone so he can return to busking this September. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to him and to everyone he brings joy to through his music.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Carter’s story, and for helping him keep doing what he loves—making people smile through song.
