Greetings to all friends, allies, and kin. Carol Dana is a language keeper, elder and storyteller from the Penobscot Nation. For decades, she has played a pivotal role in revitalizing the Penobscot language and sustaining it for future generations. Her achievements and contributions to the community are enormous. Today, we have a critical opportunity to show up in appreciation and support of her. Carol is retired and needs help maintaining a comfortable home. She has a leaky door, holes in the wall, and her house is in dire need of re-painting!
$5500 is our initial goal so she can replace her door, fix her wall and cover the needed materials, with wiggle room for unexpected costs. While unexpected costs could possibly exceed this amount, it is a reasonable start to cover the most urgent needs.
Anything you can give would go a long way and would be deeply appreciated! If you can’t donate, please share this fundraiser on social media or with your friends and community members. Let’s thank Carol for her hard work and leave her home looking as beautiful as the books, baskets, stories, and many other gifts she has shared with us. Thank you for being part of this effort!
