Hello, my name is Caitlyn Minor.  My mom, Carol, age 68, suffered a stroke caused by a bleed on her brain on 01/29/2021.  It affected the left side of her brain. She was in a swing bed hospital up until this past Friday, May 21st and received vital physical and occupational therapies to improve her mobility.  While she has made some progress, she is largely unable to use her left side all that much. My dad, Bill, age 62, has been trying get their house into working order to be able move her home to proceed with outpatient therapies. This includes enlisting help from an electrician and a plumber, as well as a multitude of other things to help get the house as handicap-accessible as possible. Since this was not completed and Medicare/Medicaid would not cover past 100 days in the hospital, we had to have her stay in a nursing home temporarily until the house is finished. However, on May 23rd, 2021, my older brother took my dad to the emergency room and found out that my dad had also suffered what the doctors thought was a slight stroke dating back a few days due to complications from his A-fib and the high amounts of stress he has been under. After a couple months of testing and complications (being hospitalized many, many times for various things), our family found out he has a type of brain cancer called glioblastoma and also thyroid cancer. He has received all the radiation he can and has been on several rounds of chemo pills, with which he has endured several hospitalizations.  Insurance will not cover any days my mom spends in the nursing home, so they have to pay full price per day she is there. My dad has been deemed by doctors as a person who needs 24/7 care, so, until the house is ready, he is in a swing bed unit in Cloquet. 

My older brother, younger brother, mom, dad, and I are humbly asking friends, family, and others to help us with this goal to cover any medical expenses incurred, house costs, and anything else my parents need as they recover from these strokes. We are also asking for prayer. We know there is only so much we can actually do and need God to fill in the rest.
