My name is Carlos and I am starting this fundraiser to help my mom get on her feet. My mom's lawyer Julia helped me set it up.

All my life, my mom has worked hard to support me and my siblings. She would pack us school lunches, take us on hikes, and she always made sure our homework was done. Even though we did not have a lot of money, my mom did everything she could to give us a happy childhood.

She has fallen on some hard times recently. She spent most of the past year trapped in immigration jail, before finally being released last month after the immigration judge granted her application to remain in the United States. Being locked up has really disrupted her life. She has epilepsy and her health really suffered in immigration jail. She was separated from her 12-year-old child, which has been really traumatizing for both of them. But even with everything she has been through, my mom is already working hard to reestablish her life. She has even found a job already. She just needs a little help to catch up on rent and cover basic expenses for a few weeks.
