My name is Carissa. I'm a full-time college student and proud daughter of an undocumented father who has worked every day of his life just to keep our family afloat. He’s not a criminal. He’s not a burden. He’s a man who wakes up each morning in fear, not because he’s done something wrong, but because this country sees his existence as one.
I’ve tried everything, selling my clothes, reaching out to organizations, scraping together what I can. But the truth is, I can’t do this alone. My dad deserves safety. He deserves rest. And I’m asking for help to give him a little peace after decades of sacrifice. Every donation, every share, every ounce of support, it helps. Not just financially, but emotionally. It tells my dad that he’s seen. That his life matters. That we’re not alone.
Recently, there were workplace raids involving bounty hunters where my dad works. The fear that he might not come home one day is something I live with constantly. He’s done nothing wrong, just trying to survive, and yet he’s treated like a target. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s urgent.
My dad also suffers from high blood pressure. Most days, he works through the dizziness, the chest tightness, the exhaustion, because missing a day if work isn’t an option. But the truth is, we’re struggling to cover even his most basic needs like food and medication. I’m trying so hard to keep him healthy, to keep him going, but I can’t do it alone.
One unexpected issue that has come us is the insurance fee for my dad's expired registration. We were able to raise enough for the registration itself, now all we need is the insurance to fully be okay. Please, any support is welcomed.
