Hi all, my sister Candyce has been trying to get a divorce for a year and a half and it has been an incredibly exhausting and frustrating experience. Candyce has done everything in her power to finalize the divorce, but her ex is refusing to cooperate and her lawyer keeps dropping the ball (and frankly seems bad at his job).

(We won't get into the reasons for the divorce here, but this divorce is a good and necessary thing!)

Candyce has sole custody of her children and her ex hasn't paid her a dime of child support in the 2 years they've been separated. Candyce is working full time and provides for her kiddos, but divorce is EXPENSIVE and she is having a hard time making ends meet.

Her divorce court date keeps getting pushed back, and her ex won't pay child support until the divorce is final. Candyce did just find a new (female!) lawyer that we believe will advocate for her and the kiddos - and will get this divorce over the finish line.

It's wild that it's come to this, that we're having to crowdfund my sister's divorce. But this is the very broken system that we're in. Divorce is incredibly expensive and many people stay in toxic and abusive marriages because they don't have the financial means to escape. Let's help a single mama out, so she can close this chapter of her life and move on and rebuild.
