My name is Camila, I’m a Latina mother of 3, I have 6 pets, I have a fiancé, and I’m not safe from ice. My immigration status is pending and I’m unable to work until my work permit is updated by USCIS. My immigration lawyer told me that the wait times have increased by a lot for most applications, including mine. The wait time for my case use to be 9-12 months but now it’s 20 & a half months. And yes, this is because of the current administration. My fiancé works full time & he’s always been able to pay the bills. But with inflation & without my income, we’ve had to cut out A LOT. Including necessary things for us, for our kids, for our pets, and for our home. We’ve been surviving but we’re still struggling. I’m not sure how we’re gonna make Christmas happen this year but we’re hoping that some kind strangers would be willing to help out, even if it’s a tiny bit.
