My name is Cameron, and I’m reaching out for help for myself and my siblings. In 2019, when I was just 13, my mother passed away from breast cancer in this very house. Since then, life has been incredibly hard. We’ve had to grow up fast, with little guidance, and I know I’ve made mistakes along the way. But I can’t live in the past—I’m trying to focus on the future and do what’s right for me and my family.
After my mom passed, we were left in a house where almost nothing works—only the electricity, and even that barely keeps the lights on. We have no heat, no water, and every day is a struggle just to get by. This house means everything to us. I watched my mom go through her battle with cancer and pass away here. It holds so many memories, and getting it right would mean the world to me. My mom always had a vision of fixing up our home, but she fell short of her plan because of her illness. I want to pick up where she left off and finish her dream, to do something that would make her proud—even if she can’t be here to see it.
The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward repairing our house. We need to restore the heat and water, fix the electricity, and replace things like cabinets so our home can be safe and comfortable again. My siblings and I want nothing more than to live in peace and have a fresh start after everything we’ve been through. Every bit of support will help us move forward and rebuild our lives.
Thank you to anyone who is willing to help us, whether it’s by donating or simply sharing our story to get the word out. I was embarrassed to ask for help before, worried about being judged, but I’ve realized that sometimes you have to reach out. Your kindness and support—no matter how big or small—means the world to us. Thank you for giving us hope and a chance at a better future.
