Help Calvin Schnell Restore Wat Buddhavas Playground

Hello, I am Calvin Schnell, an Eagle Scout Candidate for Troop 440, and this is my Eagle Project. For my Eagle Scout project, I'm building a Gaga Ball pit and repairing the playground at Wat Buddhavas in Houston. This playground has long been neglected, riddled with rusty structure and broken, weather-worn swing, making it an unstable and dangerous for anyone trying to play there. This project will help make this long-neglected playground a safer and more fun place for the kids.

The temple has been a place where I have grown and learned about my Thai culture ever since 5th grade, and now as a senior in high school, I want to give back to the community and show my gratitude. This playground especially is memorable to me as I myself have spent many hours swinging on the swings and playing tag with my friends. I hope I can restore the playground to its former glory.

How You Can Help:

I’m raising funds to cover the cost of materials like wood, concrete, hinges, gravel, and hardware for both the Gaga Ball pit and the playground repairs. Any donation, no matter the size, will help bring this project to life. Every dollar goes directly toward making a real, lasting difference for the community, and any dollar that is not spent will go directly to the temple as a donation.
