Help Cally Celebrate

Hi my name is Lorraine & I'm setting up this fund me page for my 16 year old granddaughter Cally.

Cally started feeling unwell early hours of Wednesday 23rd April, by Thursday evening myself & her mum ( my daughter Samantha) took Cally to Derby Royal Hospital.

She was being sick, her head & eyes hurt, her left hand & her feet was tingling.

At 3.30am a nurse sent us home telling her to get some seep !!!!!

By the time she went back to the hospital Friday lunchtime she was stumbling & felt so poorly.

She was admitted & was originally treated for Meningitis.

When her lumber puncture results came back we was told what she actually had was something called Gillian Barre Syndrome ( none of us had ever heard of it before)

Over the next couple of days in hospital Cally lost her ability to speak & had no function of any part of her body. She was completely paralyzed.

She then had a 5 day treatment of IVIG then a 5 day treatment of Plasma exchange.

Today is 4 weeks after being admitted & now she as regained probably 75% use of her hands , moving her arms slightly but it is agonizing for her.

She now as a very slight sensation in her feet .

It was her 16th Birthday 1st May & instead of celebrating in Morocco as planned she spent it unable to move in hospital.

She still as a long way to go but we'd love to be able to give her a celebration party & a replacement holiday.
