Help Callie Reunite with Daughter Caitlin

Hello Friends.

At 23 months clean and sober, I am fighting to regain custody of my 12 year old daughter, Caitlin. Her father passed away unexpectedly in February, 2024 and her stepmother, who has known her less than three years, was awarded temporary guardianship against my objection.

I have exhausted every avenue for legal aid. The case is being heard in Merrimack, NH as that is where Caitie and her Dad have been living. I am a MA resident who does not qualify for legal aid in either state.

I have been in my daughter's life for 10 of her 12 young years. Since entering recovery, I have progressed from video chats with Caitie, to overnight weekend visits at the 2 bedroom apartment I maintain on my own. Our relationship is stronger than ever.

Caitie's guardian claims to be working towards my reunifying with my daughter yet has revoked past agreed upon full weekend visitations and a 4 day camping vacation planned for late July-early August. She also refused, my request for accelerated reunification so that Caitie could be back in her hometown of Worcester, MA by the beginning of her first year in middle school this fall.

I have always done what I can to help my those in need. I have volunteered my time and money to help others in Recovey or simply when the need was there for whatever reason. Today, I am humbly asking for financial help to pay for a lawyer to assist me with intricacies of NH law. I cannot afford one on my own with the cost of living these days. My pay as a case manager in a local facility for individuals seeking help for substance use disorder, pays the bills, but is not enough for this endeavor. Please help me to bring my daughter home where she belongs.
