Help bwaySHO find a soft place to land

Hi everyone Shoshana from bwaySHO here laying it all out there. I’ve been trying to *keep it positive* but it’s been tough. You can only live on survival mode for so long and now it’s been a few weeks. I am eternally grateful for the friends who have stepped up in Sho many ways - offering up their homes, sending money, advice, buying me a drink or a meal or a sho ticket… all of that has meant so much.
A few people have suggested a go fund me… I have been hesitant about that, but now is the time to seize the day… and the apartment. Some of you might have seen my dream apartment. The view is unmatched. And whether it’s this one or another, I know in my heart of hearts something will work out. I’m also looking at being a Moishe House host, which is basically a Jewish home to host events for the community - you know how I keep bringing up that it would be wonderful to have happy Jewish stories? This channukah season, you can help with a Chanukah miracle!
No day but today.
The go fund me is ambitious… in theory, I would need 6 months rent, plus the brokers fee. That’s 10K. That is a whole lot of money.
I also know from covering so many galas and events, that there are people happy to donate large sums of money to help people pursue their dreams and help the arts. I hope what I have been providing with bwaySHO over the years has proven to be just that. I also want to emphasize that if you’re struggling to pay rent or don’t know if you can afford something, my plea is not to you. I want you to stay healthy just as much! My plea is to the folks out there who have the financial means to SHOpport and are looking for someone to channel that money towards. I promise I’ll make y’all proud & I hope to continue doing what I can to make theatre more accessible. I have always believed that bwaySHO would be for the people, by the people.
Friends and fans sending performance (where filming is allowed) and curtain call videos from events to host on bwaySHO means others feel it too. At several opening nights recently, people have mentioned how much they love my coverage and it has felt so validating. I hope I can continue doing what I do and grow / expand it. Having a soft place to land will up my energy to continue reporting, photographing, filming and editing.
I believe in my heart of hearts - William Shakespeare - that there is someone out there… an angel investor of sorts… who can fund bwaySHO and specially my housing for this upcoming year. It feels wild to say that with everything that’s going on, but I must trust my gut. I was contemplating if I put this large amount or a smaller one for the go fund me, but I don’t want to have to come back in a few months and have the same story, so I’m hoping that a channukah miracle happens within these 8 crazy nights.
I spent years working in television… at Comcast SportsNet and CBS 7… your breaking news and weather authority. I left being an on camera reporter to pursue my dreams in the arts. This was a risk, but sometimes the things that are worth the most are worth it.
Investors who support Broadway SHOs, please continue doing so & for this moment, I ask you to support this Broadway SHO… aka bwaySHO.
Thanks for watching, we’ll see you at the SHO.
