I want you to meet my sister, who is facing challenges every day of her life. Autumn K was born with a rare disorder that affects every part of her body negatively. This disorder is called Bardet Biedl Syndrome, otherwise known as BBS.

Bardet Biedl syndrome (BBS) is caused by mutations in one of at least 24 different genes. These genes are responsible for producing proteins that are essential for the development and function of primary cilia, which are finger-like projections on cells involved in various signaling pathways.

She is blind, has a cognitive delay, and has trouble finding affordable clothing her size. With very little money and negligent family, we struggle to support her. $250 is needed to buy a quality translation pen so she can read, since I am not always available to be able to read things for her.

Any other funds go towards medical bills and money for her own personal use to keep her stable.
